Well it's here! Britain's Next Top Model and you can see the girls here >>>>
The Guardian's Media section reports :
"Modelling? Well, we always knew it was a war zone dahhling. And it's
an idea seized with all the determination of a catwalk queen grasping
her Manolo Blahniks in a January sale at Harrods by the folk at Living
TV in their rather daring promo for the forthcoming season of Britain's
Next Top Model.
The fifth series - or cycle as these fashionistas
prefer to call it - returns next month and MediaGuardian.co.uk has an
exclusive preview.
In the promo some of the 20 aspiring models who will appear in the show are put through their paces in a gruelling army camp.
They
are drilled and grilled and told that it won't be a "holiday camp". We
are also promised "incredible highs and crushing lows" on the way to
winning that modelling contract with Models 1 and a front cover spot in
Company magazine, or whatever this year's prize is.
During the promo, host and head judge Lisa Snowdon makes an entrance and tell contestants: "Let's go to war".
Returning co-judges, photographer Huggy Ragnarsson and milliner Louis Mariette, also feature in the trail.
Quite
what the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan who are fighting a real war will
make of the channel's description of the show as "twelve weeks of war"
is anybody's guess. But no one can accuse Living of failing to fire
with both barrels.
